Importance Of Reforestation

By Arnold Barney

Deforestation has caused some bad effects on the environment, animals, and people. Because of the depletion of the forest there is an increase in greenhouse gasses that causes global warming, a lot of animals are now endangered, and the supply for needs of people decreases. In this manner, there is a significant increase in the demand for reforestation around the world especially in the Philippines. This is the restoration of the forests and woodlands that has been severely depleted. When the rebuilding is successful, there are surely a lot of benefits that it can offer. It will help the environment and the animals as well as the people living in the area. It will keep these people safe from soil erosion and flood.

There are a lot of things to be done when it comes to this type of endeavor. This includes collecting seedlings that are native in the area to make sure that there is a natural regeneration of the area. It is also important to make sure when planting some additional trees which is not native in the area that they are compatible with the climate and the type of soil. The importance of having multiple species of trees is considered to make sure that the needs of other species that will live and grow in the area are met.

Reforestation is carefully planned out to avoid any problems in the future or even while the project is ongoing. Spacing on plants and trees should be accurate so that it will not overlap each other while they grow. It may cover other plants which will cause it to die eventually. It is also considered to use native species of plants and tress which is very much beneficial because it will surely survive. This helps the restoration of the soil and rejuvenation of local flora and fauna.

The forest is there for a reason just like everyone else on this planet. It is the one responsible for stopping soil erosion and flooding during the typhoon. It also helps cleans the air from pollutants. The trees in the forest are essential because they capture the carbon dioxide that humans and animal's exhales and then gives off oxygen that every one living inhales. It maintains the beauty of the area and provides shade as well as a source of food to animals living in the area and to humans. The forest also provides us with many products and important services.

Keep in mind that there cannot be a better way to restore the balance of nature that to plant trees and thereby increase forest area. We must remember that forest is a natural habitat of wide variety of animals and plants. In this manner, there is no substitute for reforestation.
