The Main Contributors To The Water Contamination

By Carolina Walsh

The value and importance of commodity is not debatable. This is because it plays a very important role to ensure that life exists. Without it, there is nothing that is living that could exist for. Therefore, the continued water contamination is something that has brought fear to many scholars and the general inhabitants of the earth.

Therefore, there are very many pollutants that make this commodity unsafe to use by any living thing. One of the contaminants is the fertilizers used by farmers during farming activities. There contains nutrients such as nitrates and phosphates, which increase nutriments to the soil. However, when it rains these elements are washed off to the sources which cause chocking out of life in these areas due to over growth.

The pesticides used to control diseases and pests also end up in these sources, yet they are very toxic to life. There is also removal of the top layer of soil sediments making it weak to hold any plant. This is contributed by poor farming methods and deforestation.

The industrial and chemical waste could be one of its main contaminating, as there are traces of chemicals that get discharged into the near sources making it unfit to drinking or household use. Moreover, oil, gasoline and other additives also have plays a big role in making this commodity toxic for use.

Mining has also its big share in destroying the catchment areas. This is because the use of very toxic materials to excavate these minerals which eventually are washed when it rains into the valleys containing rivers and streams thereby causing poisoning.

Furthermore, other t than the above mentioned pollutants, there are many others that contribute to this dangerous activity. Therefore, if these water contamination issues are not adequately addressed it is estimated that it will not be available for use from the next few years to come.
