One of the areas where there exists enormous waste materials is in paper products. The big question is how much of our woodlands have been destroyed to meet the demand for paper products. There is more carbon dioxide circulating in the air today as the trees that live off the carbon dioxide are slowly being killed off. It is not easy to say how it has affected our planet but it doesn't hurt to have more trees. To minimize the loss of trees, there are many ways we can minimize our use of paper at home and at the workplace.

One of the huge paper wasters are companies that send out unwelcomed mail. You can cut down your unwanted mail by going on line and opting out of the mailing list. You need to also find out if your bank or credit card company allows you to do bill payments over the INternet and allow you to stop getting paper statements. This will reduce the amount of paper you get every month, and make things much more simplified by checking out your statements on the Internet. When you get started with it, paying your bills online is really handy.

If you want hard copies, just print out what is necessary for you. You'll be able to save paper by doing bill paying online as there is no check to write and no envelope to use. The accounts just take a few minutes to create, and not much else is then needed. There are a number of people who are concerned about creating accounts because of possible identity theft. If you don't wish log in to your accounts to pay your bill, you do have the option to do automatic payments. It is so convenient and it is very helpful so you don't ever have to miss a payment.

When you are purchasing products made of paper, go with brands that use recycled materials. There are numerous products, such as notebooks, cards, and others, that are now made from recycled paper. You'll find paper towels and napkins made from recycled materials. You won't have to waste paper towels by using cloth towels and rags in your home. Offices have ways to cut back on paper products, so do your best to encourage others to do their part. Unless you are the boss, hint to your boss some effective ways to stop wasting paper.
