Guidelines On Florida Tropical Plants

By Iva Cannon

Plants are living things which grow under distinct climatic conditions. Each plant has its specific climatic requirements. Some grow in dry areas while others do well in areas which are wet or swampy. This is caused by the way each plant is suited for its habitat. They have features in them which enable them to survive in those areas. This brings about the need to look at the Florida tropical plants.

There exists a wide range of species in Florida. Their diversity and distribution is influenced by a number of factors. Variations in topography are some of these factors. This refers to the differences in the surface shape and features of the earth. Different plants require different levels of elevation. This thus affects the distribution of this vegetation in different locations. Others may need a high level while others may require a lower level depending with their adaptations.

Various compositions and types of soils also affect the diversification of various tropical flora. Various species need different soils in order to germinate. For example, some need loam soil while others need silt soil to grow. This implies that the kind of soil available in a given area dictates the types of plants that will flourish there. This is due to the fact that different soils have different mineral levels which are necessary for growth and development.

Also the geological factors do affect the distribution of various flora species. This refers to the features on the earth and resultants of rock decomposition. They bring forth to different traits of the earth. Existence of diversified traits on the surface of the earth as a result of differences in decomposition processes brings about different variety of plant species.

The type and amount of rainfall is crucial for growth of plants. Each geographical region is endowed differently in terms of the amount of rain it receives. This influences what will grow in that region. This is because rain requirement varies from one plant to another. There are plant species that need a lot of rain while there are others that require very little rain for their growth and thus this flora will be found in different areas.

Seasonality of some plants also affects how they are distributed. Perennial flora shed leaves at different times during the year. The adaptations of this flora are in such a way that they grow at different times of an year. Therefore diversification of these plants is brought about by changes in the seasons for example winter and summer.

Natural ecosystem is shaped by the wide variety of plant species in a given region. The warmness or coldness of a place also influences diversification. This is due to the fact that different plant types tolerate different levels of temperature.

These plants in tropical areas thus exist in large variety of species. Some of them can be obtained from farmers who sell these commodities. Before buying one should consider its adaptation to their surroundings. This enables them to pick plants that will do well in terms of growth. Consulting friends is also important before buying any plant.
