Benefits Of Using Containment Berms

By Rhea Solomon

Special restriction tanks are manufactured to prevent leaking of harmful liquids and gases to the environment when being transported. Harmful liquids and gases pose danger to the environment. Chemicals, acids, oil and hydrocarbons are examples of material that can be transported using tanks. Car dealers and industrial firms are frequent users of containment berms as there is need to control leaks at work.

Perimeters are specifically manufactured to suit the needs of the buyer. Chemical restriction perimeters are manufactured using a high quality coated polyurethane fabric. Polyurethane fabric is usually resistant to puncture and tears. All seams are carefully attached to each other to enhance long life of the perimeter. Additional material is usually onset and available upon request.

The tanks are made of different materials based on the purpose they intend to serve to a user. Some common materials used to manufacture them include earthen water, metal, concrete and synthetic liners. The materials help are useful in overcoming several disasters like storms because they are not easily destroyed. There are some devices that ought to be attached to ease their functionality. These materials include valves, restriction gates and slide slaps so that they allow inlet and outlet of substances.

There are various benefits that these tanks have to their users. The major one is that it offers an effective means of transporting materials in an industry. This is mainly because they prevent leakage of any substance which is normally intended for recycling or storage for uses in future. The cost of installation and management all depend on the size of a tank.

Easy storage, removal and transportation of pollutant material from the environment are easily done using restriction tanks. It prevents direct exposure of liquids and gases to surroundings hence removal of danger. This is in accordance to the state and local requirements in transportation of hazardous material.

Most of the restriction tanks are made of lightweight material. Polyurethane material is usually tough but light hence easily transportable from one area to another. The tanks easy to set up and to unfold. They come with ground mats that prevent them from damage posed by rocks or solid sharp objects. On the inner part, they can be fitted with track mats. This helps in prevention of damage from truck tires. Interior parts and control gates are made of tough and non corrosive materials. Alloys of metals are used so as to enhance their strength when transporting acids.

Restriction tanks are cost effective way of transporting liquids and gases. Material used in their manufacture is cheap to acquire and hence the final cost price is low. They are made to be compact in size for specific functions and easy control of leaks. Perimeters are re usable; hence the owner can be saved from the cost which was to be incurred in acquiring another tank.

Restriction tanks are versatile and user friendly. Highly qualified technicians are involved in their manufacture. Before containment berms are released to the market, they are scientifically tested in fields and research stations. Testing allows the strengthening of a product before release to the market. It therefore prolongs the life of a tank.
