Solar Consulting In West Windsor, NJ

By Enid Hinton

In most sectors, the recession of a few years ago minimized job opportunities and saw companies carry out massive lay offs. However, for solar installers and those involved in solar consulting, job prospects remain hot and they keep heating up. According to the National Solar census 2011 report filed by The Solar Foundation in collaboration with Cornell University and GreenLMI, the US economy grew by just 0.7 percent in this year. The solar sector stood out as a hot spot with a growth rate of 6.8 percent between August 2010 and 2011. This was a growth rate of almost 10 times that of the overall US economy.

Indications in this report were that the sun energy sector had an outstanding 100, 237 jobs in the August 2010 to August 2010 period. This was following the creation of 6,735 new jobs within this period. It is expected that the trend of growth will continue with employers in this sector expected to create even more jobs and expand the workforce by at least 24% in the following year. This means there will be 24,000 new jobs for consultants, installers and others in the sector.

Prospects are particularly good for consultants and installers. Individuals and business owners are looking to be guided on the options available and what the best option for them would be. Armed with this information, they can then engage installers.

Since they started to understand the advantages of this source of alternative energy including the incentives offered by the government and manufacturers, demand has led to the introduction of new new systems for heating water. Many upgrades have also been done on the initial products. As choices and demand have increased, so have job opportunities for those in the sector.

For instance, opportunities abound for those who consult and install hot water systems. Another is that of photovoltaic installation. The job involves installing PV panels that onto roofs. They do this for homes and commercial buildings. There has been a lot of growth in this sector energy sector creating demand for experts in this field so prospects are very good.

The area of radiant heating consultation and installation is also on a high growth curve. Consultants and installers in this area deal with appliances that use radiant heating technology. These appliances are believed to be the best for making maximum use of energy from the sum. Some systems are used for heating water only and others for lighting as well.

To be accredited as a consultant or installer of solar thermal energy, one has to take a course and get a certificate on successful completion. There is the option of taking other courses leading to higher qualifications including a bachelors degree. Those who get certified in consulting and installing heating systems for swimming pools have an advantage.

Aside from consulting on thermal systems and installing them, there are also high prospects in doing it on a large scale as is required for commercial and agricultural projects. These kind of projects need a team of consultants and a number of installers.

This sector continues to be the bright light for an economy that is still on a delicate recovery path. Solar installer and consultant careers and those of others working in the solar energy sector remain bright. Energy is needed to power every home, office, factory and any other operational building. Therefore, prospects can only keep getting better for sun energy workers.
