Nearly all of the weaste that exist result from our use of paper products. The question is, just how many trees are being cut down to keep up with the demand? There is more carbon dioxide present in the air today because the trees that live off the carbon dioxide are gradually vanishing. How this completely affects the environment, it is difficult to say, but the more trees there are is a good thing. To help this situation, there are several ways to cut back on the use of paper products, not only at home, but at work as well.

Among the big wastes of paper, and time as well, is unwanted mail. You can cut your unwanted mail by going on the Internet and opting out of the mailing list. You should also see if your bank or credit card company permits you to do bill payments over the INternet and allow you to stop receiving paper statements. You will be able to reduce even more paper from being consumed and you can check the latest information about your accounts online. Once you get started with it, paying your bills online is very handy.

If you require print copies of your accounts, you have the option of printing the statements you need. With the ability to pay bills online, you won't have to write a check, use an envelope and stamp. It won't take too long to create an online account. There are a number of people who are concerned about creating accounts due to possible identity theft. If you don't wish to take the time to login and pay your bills, you can do it automatically via your bank. This is not just convenient, but a great benefit that you should be happy to take advantage of.

If you need to purchase paper, go with brands that specialize in recycled paper. There are numerous products, such as notebooks, notecards, and others, that are now made from recycled paper. Even paper towels and table napkins are being sold that are made with paper that has been recycled. You won't have to waste paper towels by deciding to use cloth towels and rags in the kitchen. Offices have ways to consumption of paper products, so do your best to encourage others to do their part. Unless you are the boss, hint to your boss some effective ways to stop wasting paper.

Use paper that has been used previously for scratch paper. Try using any paper for note taking or brainstorming; you don't have to throw the paper it straightaway.
